Prosperity Gold-Copper Mine, Canada

Agrodev provided senior management expertise to the development and implementation of an environmental planning and assessment strategy for a major open-pit mine in Western Canada. This large multi-disciplinary undertaking prepared the project for review and approval under both provincial and federal environmental assessment processes.

Environmental Management of Mine Clearance Activities, Kosovo


Agrodev carried out an environmental review of CIDA-funded activities for the clearance of mines and unexploded ordinance in Kosovo. The resulting "Standing Operating Procedure: Environmental Management" is being adopted by CIDA and by UN mine action organizations.

Environmental Assessment of Small Projects, Balkans

Agrodev carried out environmental assessments of several small infrastructure projects in Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo for CIDA.

Caspian Basin Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Training Program

Agrodev prepared this $4 million program to train energy-sector operators in up to four Caspian Basin countries to develop project proposals that could be funded under the flexibility mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol to the UNFCCC. The work involved a field mission to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, and substantial upgrading of standard CIDA bid documents.

Review of Russia Environment Program, CIDA 
 
Agrodev identified "lessons learned" and developed recommendations for future environment programming in Russia based on document research and interviews with participants in some 20 development assistance projects.
